Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, Australian Government agencies are required to ensure information and services are provided in a non-discriminatory accessible manner.
The National Archives of Australia is committed to providing an accessible website that is compliant with Level A of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0). It will be upgraded to Level AA compliance over time.
WCAG 2.0 is a standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and endorsed by the Australian Government.
This website has a limited number of documents that cannot be provided in HTML. To assist users to download and share web content, some documents are available in PDF. We have taken steps to ensure, where possible, that alternative formats are available. If you do not have a PDF reader you can download a free PDF reader.
Databases and online services
Some of the databases and online services accessed via the website do not currently conform to WCAG 2.0. We are working to address this.
Rapidly developed web application prototypes may not conform to WCAG 2.0. The final iteration of the web application will conform to the required level.
Please contact us if you have difficulty accessing a document or other service on our website we will endeavour to provide it to you in a format that meets your needs.
